I feel there are other improvements as well. The physical appearances are minor (darker top/back panel colour for one) but the CP215W may have undergone significant improvements in connecting ability to Wi-Fi as one e. Whilst there seems to be little differences between the two models I think there may be more than meets the eye. I was recently researching printers but could find little information about the Fuji Xerox CP215W printer although there was significant data on the older CP205W so I thought I would post my thoughts on the newer model if others were interested or had comments! I print one side, use the labels, then reverse the label sheet and print the other side. That is thicker than regular paper, and it started crushing and ghosting one side of the label, so I compensated for that by creating two label templates that do each side separately. I have to print colour labels, and so put label paper through it. why cant I have both? So I set it up on wifi, and it worked, but then somehow seemed to fail and revert to cable. I later found out that when you do the initial setup, you have to choose wifi or cable, which seems dumb. I bought it for its WIFI capability, which never seemed to work, so it was used with USB cable. If you always buy new cartridges, or mix up refilling and replacing, or drill an emptying hole in the waste toner bit and find a plug for it, you will not have that problem! I didnt know that until too late, and my prints were patchy, until i fiddled with and maxed out the technical settings that managed to largely compensate for it. NOTE: if you do that, be aware the belt is photosensitive, and must not be exposed to light for an extended period. I'm quite handy and completely stripped the machine, cleaned it out and reassembled it. this is because it has a belt (not a drum), and the belt cleaner is clogged. (since you use mostly black, its the black that causes the problem). Read more ng it until it eventually filled up the waste toner receptacle (part of the cartridge) and blocked everything up. I had no idea it wasted toner, and kept usi. WARNING: if like me you source toner and refill the cartridges (and buy new chips for the cartridges) YOU NEED TO KNOW THIS: (I didnt, and suffered the consequences): You have to empty the waste toner! I happen to have a bunch of larger Fuji Xerox cartridges for office printers, and I extract the toner to use in this one. Produces good prints, and if you are sourcing cheaper generic toner for it, quite cost effective. I have used this printer for several years.
